Nanomaterials Physics Division (https://zfn.home.amu.edu.pl/ ) in Faculty of Physics of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznańannounces a scholarship competition for PhD students. The scholarship is financed by the National Science Center of Poland as a part of the SHENG 1 call for Polish-Chinese research project: SpinSkySpin waves in magnetic skyrmion crystals, no 2018/30/Q/ST3/00416, coordinated by prof. Maciej Krawczyk.

The project is implemented in international cooperation with the group of prof. Yan Zhou from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, China.

The scholarship is addressed to PhD students interested in theoretical research, in particular the study of spin waves in thin ferromagnetic films with complex magnetization textures, in particular in the presence of skyrmions.

Requirements:

• high motivation to work;

• knowledge of the English language;

• fast learning skill;

• independence, good organization of work;

• ability to work in an international team.

The condition for getting the funding will be obtaining the status of the PhD student of Adam Mickiewicz University, which may require additional implementation for the doctoral studies program.

Task description:

Developing coupled mode theory for description of the coupling (including nonlinear effects) between skyrmion dynamics and spin waves in the film. Developing model of the interaction between the skyrmions in the lattice and work for defining conditions for self-synchronization of the oscillations in artificial skyrmionic crystals. The doctoral student's tasks will include the development and interpretation of the results, cooperation in the preparation of scientific publications and presentation of results at the international conferences.
